|Preservation of history and knowledge||Zel has loved the magic of stories since childhood. She remembers fondly asking her brother (and less often, her parents) to spin tales to help her settle down into sleep. She is most likely to ask for a story when she is scared.|
|Loved Ones||Zelserys is a person who loves, and she has no shortage of people to love.|
|The propagation of the Itchil||Zelserys’ personal hero is the Queen of the Bloody Crown, and it is with awe that she has listened to the tales of the Itchil’s perseverance and resurrection. She expects to contribute to that tradition.|
|Previously dedicated to the Holy States, Zelserys has become more critical of her efforts after hearing of Luther’s vision. Good ought to be done for its own sake, and no person in the world is more deserving than another simply because of geographic kismet.|
Oaths of the Itchil Zosrich:
- Never abandon an ally to mortal combat.
- Respect the nobility of the Common Person.
- Never harm the innocent.
- Always pay debts that are rightfully owed.
- Forsake neither the Lansi nor the Itchil by word or deed.
- Repay hospitality with protection and good works.
Negotiator (+2 to Diplomacy and Sense Motive Checks)
Quick Draw (Draw as a free action, throw at full strength)
Racial: +2 to Dex (Half-Elf)
Cultural: +2 to Perception and Initiative (Student of the Itchil)
Current Stats: +3 Luck to AC, 18 rounds/day
Starting at 2nd level a member of the Itchil Zosrich can touch an ally as a standard action (or themselves as a swift action) and bestow divine protection for a time. This protection grants a + 1 Luck bonus to Armor Class and all Saving Throws. This increases to a + 2 bonus at 6th level, a + 3 bonus at 10th level, a + 4 bonus at 14th level, and a + 5 bonus at 18th level. The Paladin has a number of rounds worth of protection per day equal to their Paladin level times their Charisma modifier. Whenever the Paladin activates this ability they must choose how many rounds of protection to bestow. Once it is bestowed, the Paladin cannot remove, take back, or prematurely end the rounds of protection in any way.
This ability replaces the Lay on Hands ability, and is a supernatural ability. Using Protective Hand does not provoke attacks of opportunity.
Strike of Retribution:
Current Stats: 3x/day, +2 to attack, +9 dmg
Starting at 1st level the Itchil Zosrich can bring down divine retribution against those that have violated the principles of the order. As many times per day as a standard paladin may Smite Evil, a member of the Itchil Zosrich may empower an attack against anyone whom they have personally witnessed act against the oaths of the Itchil Zosrich. This ability otherwise functions exactly like Smite Evil and replaces the Smite Evil ability.
Current Stats: 5x/day, ((Pal Lvl -3)d6), 7d6 damage, DC 18 (10+(Pal Lvl – 3)+Cha Mod) for 1/2 dmg
When a paladin reaches 4th level, she gains the supernatural ability to turn undead. She may use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + her Charisma modifier. She turns undead as a cleric of three levels lower would.
At 6th level, a paladin can produce a remove disease effect, as the spell, once per week. She can use this ability one additional time per week for every three levels after 6th (twice per week at 9th, three times at 12th, and so forth).
Remove disease cures all diseases that the subject is suffering from. The spell also kills parasites, including green slime and others. Certain special diseases may not be countered by this spell or may be countered only by a caster of a certain level or higher.
Masterwork Longsword (crafted by Iyanil of the Bloody Crown when the queen still worked the forge, gifted to Zelserys upon becoming a Paladin of the Itchil Zosrich).

Before the War:
Zelserys is part of a small but devout family. Zel’s elven mother and Golirian father, Nillathria and Alaric, decided that the family would take Nillathria’s surname, Anorallath, in observance of the Itchil reverence for the nobility of the common person. Technically speaking, Nillathria had significantly less status and power than Alaric. Besides which, the scholar in Alaric argued that it only made sense to pass on the name of the parent who was longer-lived, and likely to have multiple marriages, for the sake of clarity in a family tree.
Her parents were careful never to force faith onto either of their half-elf children. They were nonetheless pleased when both Zelserys and her older brother, Tialis sought the light of the Lansi eagerly and fiercely.
Zelserys became a paladin of the Itchil as soon as she was eligible to do so, and was gifted with a sword crafted by Queen Iyanil to mark the occasion.
During the War:
Zelserys was well suited to the demands of defending the Holy States. She would likely have been happy to continue working alongside the armies of the Holy States, capturing assassins, weathering sieges, and preventing assassination attempts. Then she met Sana Roshan and Luther Ritter and the world got bigger, more complicated, and infinitely more terrifyingly beautiful.
Death and Resurrection:
Zelserys hoped to spare Alsint from pain, pointless loss, and demoralization. By dedicating her last breath to kindness, compassion, and love she hoped to deserve to stand in the true light of the Lansi and continue to serve her god. Things didn’t work out as she expected.
Now she is uncertain. Will she go back to Paradise when she dies again? Is a lifetime all she’ll ever have with the people she loves? Is she marked now for an eternity with the Goblin Queen?
Whatever the afterlife holds for her, Zel now finds even more cause for celebration in her first conscious breath of the day. And the last. And every breath in between, because when you know the exact moment of the last possible breath you will ever breathe, each is a miracle and not a single one is to be wasted.
On the evening of the 17th day of the 8th month of 1758, Zelserys Anorallath will draw her last breath, and until then she will not tolerate idleness.
A simple quest to investigate and stop the mad ghost queen Idoraksila is becoming increasingly complicated. She just counts herself blessed to be with a man who thinks and acts on as grand scale as she does. A man who moves mountains.
